Knights of the Kalahari.
Of all Africa's antelope, the gemsbok (Oryx) is perhaps the most perfect. I see gemsbok
as Africa's knight: Steel-gray armour, visor-like mask, and twin lances held erect. His
gait and his movements are distinctly equestrian, and his tail long and flowing, like a
horse's. His deep neck is unique, and he arches it like a horse when angry. Nature also
gave him a designer outfit - a dark and sweeping band on his flank that rises at an angle
towards the rear, lending him a superbly streamlined, athletic appearance. Ever alert,
the bull shows a dignified confidence as he watches you with his head held high, then
swishes his tail and trots off a few paces before turning broadside to stare arrogantly
back at you. The gemsbok is the worrier of the antelope world, and he looks every inch
the part."

Namibia is a sensory awakening that stirs the soul, warms the heart, kindles the mind and challenges the body to be
alert. Klawerberg — Namibia with its grace and beauty and majestic awe in between land and sky is like a fairy tale for
adults ready to believe again in the power of nature over man.
